China’s Embodied Copper Flow from the Demand-Side and Production-Side Perspectives

چکیده
Copper is a critical mineral resource and plays crucial role in social economic development. In China, the world’s largest copper consumer, footprints embodied transfers among sectors have not been studied sufficiently. Combing an environmentally extended input-output model complex network method, this paper systematically analyzes China’s consumption final demand production process. The research shows that (1) from perspective of demand, Construction sector driver consumption, contributing 3.27 Mt 2020, followed by Manufacture General Purpose Machinery (1.31 Mt). (2) Structural path analysis (SPA) mainly drives Production Distribution Electric Power Heat sector, Non-metallic Mineral Products so on. Conversely, main initial supply chain, driven Smelting Processing Metals (3) From production, Transport, Storage, Postal Services important transfer station transforming resources upstream to downstream along with copper. supplier for sectors. consumer including Chemical function well as transformers, suppliers consumers process transfers. (4) flow system can be divided into four groups are closely linked. E & C community core member whole network. S network, exporting great deal other communities. Finally, some policy proposals on rational utilization put forward.

Comparing supply side and demand side options for electrifying a local area using life cycle analysis of energy technologies and demand side programs
The main aim of this paper is to select the best portfolio of renewable energy technologies (RETs) for electrifying an elected area which is not connected to any other grids. Minimizing total costs of the system is considered as the main factor in finding the best decision. In order to make the optimum plan more applicable, the technique of life cycle analysis is applied. This technique takes i...
متن کاملThe Production-Side Approach to Estimating Embodied Technological Change
We estimate the rate of embodied technological change directly from plant-level manufacturing data on current output and input choices along with histories on their vintages of equipment investment. Our estimates range between 8 and 17 percent for the typical U.S. manufacturing plant during the years 1972-1996. Any number in this range is substantially larger than is conventionally accepted wit...
متن کاملSolving Traffic Congestion from the Demand Side
As intercity traffic is becoming faster with an increasing mileage of motorways and high-speed railways, urban traffic is becoming slower, which causes additional costs to the global economy, risen transport costs, increased fuel consumption and deteriorating transport pollution. Worsening urban congestion is the result of many factors, including increased travel demand for intensified economic...
متن کاملForesighted Demand Side Management
We consider a smart grid with an independent system operator (ISO), and distributed aggregators who have energy storage and purchase energy from the ISO to serve its customers. All the entities in the system are foresighted: each aggregator seeks to minimize its own long-term payments for energy purchase and operational costs of energy storage by deciding how much energy to buy from the ISO, an...
متن کاملDynamic investment strategies with demand-side and cost-side risks
Investments in cost reductions are critical for the long run success of companies that operate in dynamic and stochastic market environments. This paper studies optimal investment in cost reductions as a real option under the assumption that a single firm faces two different sources of risk, stochastic demand and input prices. We derive optimal investment strategies for a monopoly as well as a ...
